Paper Bags for Boiled Peanuts

Hey guys do any of you have suggestions for boiled peanut containers? I have been using plastic soup containers but I would rather switch to poly-lined brown paper bags. Have any of you used them before? How leak proof are they? Thanks!

Hi Jimmy,
I have never used the bags you speak about, but have tried most other kinds. We ended up using 32 oz cups with lids. Customers like it because it will go in the cup holder, and are not HOT to hold. Plus there is no measuring - when the cup is topped out, that's a quart.

Good Luck and "Keep'em Cookin"

I agree with using foam cups. They are by far the cheapest, most convenient, and sturdy for the price. I was using translucent plastic deli containers, but they run way too high.

When I was in Florida, the gas station quicky stores put them in styrofoam cups.

Squat Cups

You should sell your nuts in "squat" cups, not the tall drink type Styrofoam cups. Squats are easier to get your hands into and they fit in the drink holders in a car. You can use the same lids for the various sizes as you can for drink cups too.

Where can you get the squat cups? We are new to the business and are trying to get the right supplies first.
Thank you.

Eco friendly?

Please don't laugh but I am concerned about using Styrofoam cups for boiled peanuts. Just the sight of litter bothers me.

Is there an alternative? Are there wax paper lined brown paper bags? My first memories of boiled peanuts were served up in brown paper bags which pf course leaked and fell apart. Not ideal.
