How did George Washington Carver make plastic out of peanuts?

I've been researching this as well, it started with a question about the biodegradability of 'peanut plastic'.

From what I can tell he made the plastic using peanut oil and the remaining peanut meal. However he was only able to boil around 25 pounds of peanuts at a time making mass production prohibitive.

I would love more info on this plastic, I wonder if it was as sturdy as Soy based plastic.
