Tips on Running a Boiled Peanut Business?

by Jarrod Casey

I'm in the process of starting up a boiled peanut wagon but have questions about prepping peanuts. When selling a couple hundred lbs of peanuts a day, and it taking up to 24hours to boil dried peanuts, how do you stay stocked for everyday business?

If you precook and refrigerate do you re-season the water and all when you set up each day? Would you need a cooker in the stand to sell and one going for the next day?

Hi,
I cook and refrigerate for events and heat as needed, but daily I have enough pots that I just keep a new batch cooking while I serve the cooked Goobers.

Reheating Boiled Peanuts

Jarrod,
When you reheat boiled peanuts you should use seasoned water. If you reheat salted or spiced boiled peanuts in plain water you will dilute the seasoning inside the peanuts.
