Can I boil peanuts in a regular pot?

The instructions say to boil the peanuts in a stock pot or slow cooker. Can I just boil them in a regular large cooking pot? Is there a difference?

Boiled peanuts in a pot

Lexy,
It doesn't matter what kind of pot you use to boil peanuts. As long the pot will hold your raw peanuts along with enough water to float them, then you are good to go!

Add water as it boils off, sample peanuts periodically for tenderness. Boil them until they are as tender as you like, turn off the burner, and soak them in the cooling brine to get the juicy, salty flavor inside the shells.
