A difference in what respect of boiling peanuts? A difference in the peanuts' taste, boiling time, cost, safety?

I've heard from those that have boiled peanuts using hardwood fires that the wood smoke imparts a flavor into the boiled peanuts.

Some people add liquid smoke to the water, to recreate the wood fired taste in their boiled peanuts.
